Sue:
Hi, my name is Sue, this is my husband, David. We’ve now been with Matthew for the past 17 years.

David:
I met Matthew 17 years ago when I was running a business and a partnership. He was recommended to me by a friend and after listening to what he had to say, he seemed to fit the criteria that I was looking for an adviser.

Sue:
When I first was introduced to Matthew, I needed help with planning my pension fund. I hadn’t got a clue what to do with it. So Matthew gave me incredible advice and has been doing so ever since.

Matthew makes me feel very confident. When I first met Matthew, I was probably a little bit worried about asking what I viewed as silly questions. Matthew has just talked me through everything and not made me feel at all stupid, reassured me that it was a good question to ask, and has given me good advice.

David:
Just recently, we decided to go through a change of the company that’s looking after a percentage of our money. On Matthew’s advice, he said he could get us a better deal with the same level of service. So he’s been major in making that go through.

I like working with Matthew because mainly we have an annual meeting where he covers everything, but he does send us spreadsheets on a regular basis, so we can see what’s happening with our finances. This is most useful because we can go backwards to old spreadsheets and see how it’s performing.

Sue:
I feel very secure about our financial future. Matthew has given us really good advice. Also, he’s advised us on going to make your will, going to get your probate sorted out and perhaps areas that we hadn’t thought of, and he’s steered us in the right direction.

David:
The three words I would use to describe Matthew would be availability, knowledgeable and reliable.

Sue:
Matthew makes assurances to us about spending and assures us that we can spend our money and stop panicking about our longevity, it’s all been good advice.

David:
I think the best piece of advice Matthew has given us is really, there is no need for us to worry about our financial situation. He’s constantly reassuring us that the money we have will adequately last us with his careful planning and knowledge of the markets.

Sue:
I would certainly recommend Matthew for his honesty, truthfulness, his reliability. Actually in the past, we have recommended him to a friend who was in a difficult position, and he literally gave his time on a telephone discussion with her and helped her so much.
